Day 3 - Sunday Sermon Recap

Jan 8, 2025    Pastor Javier Vega

Welcome to day number 3 of our devotional based on last Sunday’s Sermon:

Luke 9:23-26 - And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.

Following Jesus comes with a cost, as we were reminded last Sunday. Jesus doesn't sugarcoat this reality but calls us to carefully consider what it means to be His disciple. Today, reflect on what following Christ has cost you personally. Have you had to make difficult decisions for the sake of obedience?

Are there areas where you've been hesitant to fully commit to Christ's lordship? Remember, whatever we give up for Christ pales in comparison to the eternal joy and satisfaction found in Him. Pray for the courage to embrace the cost of discipleship, knowing that God's way always leads to our ultimate good.
