Day 3 - Sunday Sermon Recap
Welcome to day 3 of our devotional based on last Sunday’s sermon:
Ephesians 6:10-18 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,
Life is a battlefield, and as believers, we are engaged in a spiritual war. Here in Ephesians 6 verses 10 through 18 Paul reminds us that our strength doesn’t come from ourselves but from God. He shows us how in this battle God hasn't left us defenseless. He's provided us with spiritual armor to stand firm against the enemy's schemes.
However as we reach verse 18 we can see that Paul doesn’t stop with the armor—he also emphasizes prayer. The believers armor must be immersed in prayer. We must stay connected to God through prayer, seeking His daily strength. So, as you read about each piece of armor, consider how you can "put it on" in your daily life.
Today, take a moment to assess: Are you consistently speaking and living in truth? Are you relying on Christ's righteousness rather than your own? Is your faith shield strong enough to quench doubts and temptations? Take time to pray, asking God to strengthen you in areas where you feel vulnerable. Remember, our ultimate victory is secure in Christ.
