Day 2 - Sunday Sermon Recap

Jan 14, 2025

Welcome to day 2 of our devotional based on last Sunday’s Testimonies:

Psalm 34:4-7 - I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.

Today's psalm reminds us that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. As our students learned from John Piper's vulnerable testimony, even spiritual leaders face times of intense struggle and near-despair. Yet, in those moments, we're called to cry out to God, acknowledging our inability to hold on and beg Him to hold onto us.

Reflect on a time when you felt overwhelmed by circumstances. How did God meet you in that place? Remember, there is no pain or suffering outside of God's sovereign and gentle hands. Today, practice dependence by surrendering your burdens to God in prayer and trusting in His faithfulness and care.
