Day 1 - Sunday Sermon Recap
Welcome to day number 1 of our devotional based on last Sunday’s sermon:
Ephesians 1:3-8 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us
As we begin our devotional journey this week, let’s do so by reflecting on our identity in Christ. In Ephesians chapter 1 Paul reminds us that we are chosen, adopted, redeemed, forgiven and sealed by the Holy Spirit. And this isn't because of anything we've done, but solely because of God's love and grace. He has chosen to bless us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in accordance with his pleasure and will and with the riches of His grace that he has lavished on us. He has showered us with His grace.
Today, meditate on what it means to be "in Christ." How does knowing you are chosen, adopted, redeemed, forgiven and sealed by the Holy Spirit impact your daily life? Consider writing down specific blessings you've received and thank God for His lavish grace. Remember, no matter what challenges you face, your identity in Christ is secure.
