Day 2 - Sunday Sermon Recap

Jan 7, 2025    Pastor Javier Vega

Welcome to day number 2 of our devotional based on last Sunday’s Sermon:

1 Corinthians 1:21-24: For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

Here in 1 Corinthians the apostle Paul reminds us that Christ must always be at the center of all Christian ministry. Last Sunday we contrasted this truth against the history of the YMCA losing sight of its original purpose. As Christians, we must constantly evaluate our actions, motivations, and goals in light of this truth. Are we living for the exultation of Christ or to bring glory to ourselves? Today, consider one area of your life - perhaps your job, a hobby, or a relationship - and ask yourself how you can more intentionally use it to exalt Christ. Remember, when we align our purposes with God's, we find true fulfillment and joy.
